Mitsubishi Regional Jet's maiden flight set for Wednesday - The Japan Times

The Mitsubishi Regional Jet, Japan’s first domestically produced passenger jet, will make its maiden flight Wednesday morning at Nagoya Airport, Mitsubishi Aircraft Corp. said.

Mitsubishi Aircraft, a subsidiary of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Ltd., had said the first flight of the small passenger jet would take place between Monday and Friday. After taking weather and other factors into consideration, Wednesday was chosen.

Mitsubishi Truck Helps Students Learn STEM - KEYT

Anacapa Middle School students in Ventura didn't have to travel far for a field trip on Friday, a Mitsubishi "Solutions in Motion" Semi was parked in the school parking lot.

Students studying science, technology, engineering and mathematics, known as STEM, lined-up to step on board. Kelly Mada, the parent of a sixth grader, who works with Mitsubishi greeted them.

Mada said this was the first time the truck visited a school.

Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Ltd. moved closer to investing in Areva SA’s reactor unit after it said it has begun examining a “concrete proposal” to take a minority stake, a step that would deepen ties between Japan and France in the generation of nuclear energy.

Japan’s sole producer of pressurized water reactors said Friday that in coming weeks it will consider the conditions for making an offer for Areva NP, including “ownership ratios,” and will also “work up a proposal of Japan-France collaborative measures” around the safety and reliability of nuclear power plants.

Paper Pulp Beats Oil as Itochu Sees Profit Passing Mitsubishi - Bloomberg

Tires and paper pulp are positioning Japan’s Itochu Corp. to pass its rival Mitsubishi Corp. in annual profit.

Itochu, Japan’s third-largest trading house, forecast net profit of 330 billion yen ($2.7 billion) for the year ending March, while Mitsubishi, the country’s largest, estimates earnings of 300 billion yen, according to separate filings Thursday. It would be the first time Itochu earns more in a year than Mitsubishi, data compiled by Bloomberg going back to fiscal year 1991 show.

Nieuwe Mitsubishi SUV - Bandenspotter

In een interview met Automotive News zei Mitsubishi CEO Osamu Masuko dat het toekomstige product gepositioneerd wordt tussen de middelgrote Outlander en de compacte ASX:

"De Outlander groeit, de ASX wordt kleiner, vandaar dat er ruimte ontstaat voor een nieuwe SUV. Er moet iets tussenin zitten."

Het nieuwe voertuig – momenteel zonder naam – gaat naar verwachting eind volgend jaar in productie en richt zich op Amerika en Europa als belangrijkste markten.
